A SCHOLARSHIP ROOTED IN ONE FAMILY’S JOURNEY

The Kwarteng Foundation Mission

Our mission is to invest in the Chicagoland community through the provision of merit-based scholarships for high school seniors in pursuit of higher education.

Through this endeavor we aim to recognize academic achievement, reduce financial barriers, and build a brighter, more equitable future for the leaders of tomorrow.

Our Family’s
Legacy

The Alex Kwarteng Foundation scholarship was created by four sisters to honor the legacy of their father.

Dr. Alex Kwarteng is a Ghanaian-American who immigrated to the United States in the late 1980s.

Shortly after arriving in the United States, Dr. Alex Kwarteng met his loving wife of 36 years, Stella. With her help, and through determination and perseverance, he worked his way through pharmacy school and built a career marked by achievement and impact.

He is a loving husband, father, and grandfather who serves as a pillar to his family, work, and church community.

The purpose of this scholarship is to support and recognize the achievements of students who are striving to create a brighter future for themselves and for generations beyond.

“The Alex Kwarteng scholarship has provided my family and me the means to stay afloat financially, But most of all, it affirms that there are people, like myself, and organizations who believe in planting seeds for the future. I am one of those many seeds. With the help of the Alex Kwarteng Scholarship, I’m confident that I will grow to become the kind of change maker who makes law more human, justice more accessible for all, and dreams worth believing in again.”
